Public library plans used book sale during Fun Daze "The Fun Starts Early" at the Vermillion Public Library Used Book Sale July 28 and 29.
Hardcover and paperback books, magazines and other materials retired from the library's collection and donated to the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library are specially priced for the sale. Items sell for three-for-$1, 50 cents or 75 cents each and customers can fill a grocery bag or copy paper box for $5 with items of their choice.
This summer's used book sale is one of Vermillion's Fun Daze events. The sale runs Wednesday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, July 29 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
"Because our Used Book Sales are so popular, we are starting the sale Wednesday and start at 7 a.m. Thursday morning for an extra hour of fun. We want to be open early for our customers before and after work and for people involved in other Fun Daze activities," said Steve Waller, a Friends member.
"We have a big selection of Adult General Fiction for this year's sale. We also have a large number of vinyl LP records," according to Librarian Jane Larson.
The Used Book Sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library to support programs like the Summer Reading Program, ESA Giving Tree, Literary Luncheon and special equipment purchases.
For more information, call the library at 677-7060 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteers are needed to help run the sale and to set up Tuesday evening before the sale.
