Roetman awarded USD scholarships Sarah Roetman, the daughter of George and Teri Roetman of Vermillion, was awarded scholarships to attend The University of South Dakota this fall where she will major in Spanish and human resource management.
Roetman will receive the Rawlins and Sertoma Scholarships. The Rawlins Scholarship promises a minimum of $2,200 per year in scholarship assistance, renewable for a total of four years. The Sertoma Scholarship promises $250 in scholarship assistance.
The Rawlins Scholarship is available to the highest ranking senior at Vermillion High School and is based on the seventh semester rank. The Sertoma Scholarship is available to graduates of Vermillion High School with a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
An excellent student, Roetman maintained a 3.174 GPA at Vermillion High School, which was good enough to land her on the honor roll. She was involved in student council, tennis and attended YBA.
Roetman was a citizen at Girls State and was on the National Honor Roll. She earned a listing in the prestigious Who's Who of America's High school Students and a membership in the National Honor Society.
