Wakonda-Irene girls U16 softball action

Wakonda-Irene girls U16 softball action Wakonda-Irene split with the Vermillion Diamonds. Vermillion won the first game 15-9. The leading batters for Wakonda were Nichole Nielsen, Justine Sorensen, Lynzee Reeves, Brittany Bakke and Eva Hiemel each with singles.

Wakonda-Irene won the second game 13-12. The leading hitters for Wakonda-Irene were Andrea Bakke, Ashley Anderson, Shawna Knutson and Kerstin Roesler each with singles. Rachel Mellem added a triple and double to help out with the win. Bakke was the winning pitcher.

Dakota Valley defeated

Wakonda-Irene wins big against Dakota Valley 11-8 and 13-2. The leading batters for Wakonda were Justine Sorensen and Kerstin Roesler each with a single. Anderson had a single and double. Tiffany Ganschow had a double. Wakonda took lots of walks which helped out with the victory. The winning pitcher was Andrea Bakke.

Wakonda-Irene split with Vermillion Magic. The first game was 13-2. The leading batters for Wakonda were Nichole Nielsen, Sorensen and Bridget Healey each with a single.

Wakonda-Irene won the second game 9-6. The leading batters for Wakonda were Knutson, Amanda Burfeindt and Jessica Peterson each with a single, and Nichole Nielsen with two singles. Kayla Poncelet hit a single and double, and Tiffany Ganschow had a double and two RBIs to lead to the victory. The winning pitcher was Andrea Bakke.

beats Gayville

Irene won the first game 16-10. The leading hitters for Wakonda-Irene were Lynzee Reeves, Emily Ganschow and Jessica Peterson each with a couple singles. Brittany Bakke picked up the win for the victory.

Wakonda-Irene won the second game also against Gayville. The leading batters for Wakonda-Irene were Tiffany Ganschow with a triple and three RBI to start off the first inning. Ashley Anderson, Amanda Burfeindt, Shawna Knutson, Rachel Mellem and Tiffany Ganschow each had a single.

Jessica Peterson had a double for the win. Andrea Bakke was the winning pitcher with five strike outs.

Action at Yankton

Wakonda-Irene then traveled to Yankton to play the Yankton Angels. The Angels won both games 15-14 and 6-4. The leading batters for Wakonda-Irene were Bridget Healy with a double, Kayla Poncelet with a triple and Nichole Nielsen with two singles.

Emily Ganschow, Denise Livingston and Tiffany Ganschow each had a single. Wakonda-Irene will host Viborg next.
