Angela Ericson hired as assistant law school dean Angela Ericson is the new assistant dean at The University of South Dakota School of Law.
Ericson, who was hired for the position after a national search, began work at the Law School on Aug. 18.
Ericson is a December 1999 graduate from The University of South Dakota School of Law. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in 1995 from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN. Most recently Ericson was a program director for Everest College in Phoenix, AZ, where she oversaw the paralegal and criminal justice degree programs. Everest College is a proprietary institution owned by Corinthian Colleges, Inc.
"Angela has had nearly four years of valuable experience directing an educational program for legal assistants," said Barry R. Vickrey, dean of the law school. "The management skills she has developed in that position, combined with the excellent legal education she received here at USD, have prepared her to make an outstanding contribution as assistant dean."
Ericson and her husband Chad are excited about relocating to the area as both were raised in the midwest. Ericson's hometown is Rochester, MN, while Chad is from Akron, IA, where he will continue the financial planning business he began in Phoenix. They both look forward to joining the university and the community.
