Johnson named USD employee of the month Lori Johnson, senior claims clerk for the Business Office at The University of South Dakota, has been selected as the Career Service Employee of the Month for August. University of South Dakota President James W. Abbott presented the award during a celebration on Aug. 11, in the Collette Abbott room of Old Main.
Johnson was nominated for the award by supervisor Sheila Lambert, based on her exceptional customer service skills and her friendly and caring attitude.
"Lori is cooperative, trustworthy, and a real joy to work with each and every day," said Lambert.
"Lori has worked with the business office on a full-time basis since July 2002. Previously, she worked as an hourly employee. She assisted the office by distributing work-study checks each month to students and enjoyed the "working environment," particularly conversing with students and their wide variety of personalities," Lambert said.
When asked about her job and being named the August Employee of the Month, Johnson said, "I am really proud to be a part of USD and especially the business office. I think everybody in the business office deserves this award. I have never worked anywhere that had this good of teamwork."
Johnson and her husband Steve live in rural Elk Point and they have two sons, Steven and Michael.
