Kenyon Gleason named director of media relations Kenyon Gleason has been named director of Communications and Media Relations at The University of South Dakota.
Gleason, began his duties at USD on July 1.
Gleason has been working in the ethanol industry as director of communications for the Broin Companies. He was also a member of the Sioux Falls City Council from 2000-2004, serving one year as the council chairman. Gleason brings over 10 years of communication experience and political involvement to his position at the university.
A North Dakota native, Gleason is a 1993 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a bachelor's degree in mass communications/broadcasting and English minor. He is an award winning journalist who has worked as a reporter, anchor and news director for stations in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and at KELO in Sioux Falls. Gleason has also worked as a radio news announcer and as managing editor of the Bishop's Bulletin, a monthly newspaper for the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls.
In his role as director of Communications and Media Relations, Gleason will facilitate external communications for USD and serve as liaison to the press.
Gleason and his wife Stacey have five sons: Jackson, 8, Casey, 7, Micah, 4, Tayte, 3 and Peyton, 1.
