Meierkort to hold meetings in Sioux Falls In an effort to promote South Dakota football, new Coyote head football coach Ed Meierkort will hold a public meeting every Monday during the season at C.J. Calloways in Sioux Falls. The sessions, in which Meierkort will discuss the Coyotes and their upcoming opponent, will begin at 7 p.m.

Meierkort held his first session on Monday, Aug. 23. Other forums will be held on Aug. 30, Sept. 6, Sept. 13, Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Oct. 18, Oct. 25, Nov. 2 and Nov. 9.

"We are excited about the prospects for the Coyotes this season," said Meierkort. "It is important that we do all we can to inform people about the Coyotes. Our roster includes numerous South Dakota and regional student-athletes. "Many of them will play key roles as we work to make this football program strong again. We want everyone to know that the Coyotes are South Dakota's team and we encourage them to come join us on Monday to discuss Coyote football," he said.

Meierkort noted that the Sioux Falls area is filled with Coyote supporters. "It is the least we can do to bring our show to Sioux Falls," he said.

South Dakota will open its season at Truman State on Aug. 28 at Kirksville, MO. Gametime is set for noon. The USD season opener will against Peru State on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. in the DakotaDome.

As part of the home opener, USD will sponsor Student Association Night in which an undergraduate student will win a semester of tuition. The winning student must be in attendance. USD will also have a series of tail-gating options.

for those attending the games. Everyone interested in the Coyote football are encourage to attend the pre-game activities at The Yote Zone, beginning at 5 p.m. on Sept. 2. Ticket prices for the game include $10 for adults and $5 for K-12. Pre-school children are admitted free.
