Obituaries James R. Moore

James R. Moore, 42, of Vermillion, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Mr. Moore was born June 30, 1962 in Vermillion, to Duane and Lillian (Nielsen) Moore. He graduated from the Vermillion High School in 1979, and married Kim Riehle in Vermillion on June 15, 1985.

Mr. Moore was working as a mechanic and a dispatcher for Ludey's Ready Mix in Vermillion.

He is survived by his wife, Kim, his son, J.R., and a daughter, Abby, all of Vermillion; his parents, Duane and Lillian of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Susan (Harvey) Wynn of Las Vegas, and Elaine Williams of American Falls, ID.

He is also survived by two grandmothers, Clara Nielsen of Vermillion, and Marie Moore of Lennox; as well as three nieces, Michelle Wynn, Jolene Williams, and Tanasha Watson; and four nephews, Ronnie Wynn, Sgt. James (Carol) Williams, Kyle Riehle, and Kolby Riehle.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herbert Moore and Bernhardt Nielsen, and an uncle, Delmer Moore.

His funeral service was 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at First United Methodist Church in Vermillion, with burial in BluffView Cemetery in Vermillion.

Visitation began at 6 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the church. Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion was in charge of arrangements.

Alice Gilbaugh

Alice G. Gilbaugh, 90, died July 31, 2004 at the Maple Crest Care Center in Belvidere, IL. She was born to Harry and Anna Almberg, April 24, 1914 near Vermillion. She married Lester Gilbaugh on Dec. 24, 1933.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ken (Reita) Carlson of The Villages, FL; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Anna Aust of Vermillion and Gerda Gilbaugh of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her brothers Walter Almberg, Torsten Almberg, Gust Almberg; and her sister, Selma Erickson.
