Housing meeting scheduled in Vermillion The South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) and the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) have scheduled and invite the public to attend a public meeting regarding proposed changes for the 2005 Consolidated Plan. The meeting will be held at several locations throughout the state on Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m. DDN sites that will be available for this meeting include The University of South Dakota, Vermillion.
The Consolidated Plan is the state's five-year housing and community development strategy that includes a description of how the HOME, CDBG, ESG, and HOPWA funds will be allocated in South Dakota.
This is an opportunity for the public to provide their comments, suggestions and ideas prior to drafting the 2005 Plan. The public will have another chance to provide written comments once the draft plan has been released in November.
Persons interested in making suggestions for the drafting of the new plan may do so by appearing at the DDN site listed above or by sending written comments to SDHDA, PO Box 1237, Pierre, SD 57501, by 5 p.m. Oct. 8. If commenters choose, they may send written comments on the CDBG portion to the Governor's Office
of Economic Development (GOED) at 711 E. Wells, Pierre, SD 57501. Copies of the 2003 Five-Year Consolidated Plan and the 2004 Update may be found at www.sdhda.org, or can be requested by calling (605) 773-3181.
