SDPB to host debates

SDPB to host debates South Dakota Public Broadcasting will be holding a series of debates between candidates for statewide offices this October.

* Public Utilities Commission candidates will debate Tuesday, Oct. 12, live at noon on SDPB Radio and then broadcast on SDPB TV at 8 p.m.

* U.S. House candidates will debate Thursday, Oct. 14, live at noon on SDPB Radio and then broadcast on SDPB TV at 8 p.m.

* Senate candidates will debate Friday, Oct. 15, live at noon on SDPB Radio and then broadcast on SDPB TV at 8 p.m.

Media panelists will ask the candidates questions and SDPB's Richard Muller will moderate. All debates will also be available, live and archived, on sdpb.org.

The debates are a joint project between South Dakota Public Broadcasting, KELO-AM 1320, the South Dakota Newspaper Association and your local newspaper.
