SDPB will feature Hewitt

SDPB will feature Hewitt Several South Dakota Public Broadcasting programs on Sept. 30 will feature Don Hewitt, the 17th recipient of the annual Al Neuharth Award for Excellence in Journalism, which he will receive at the Al Neuharth Award Symposium: an Evening of Presidential Politics and Journalism.

SDPB TV will air the program at 7 p.m. live from Slagle Auditorium on The University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion.

A debate between presidential candidates George Bush and John Kerry will follow. Then, at 10 p.m. SDPB will bring viewers post-debate analysis from Hewitt, former U.S. Sen. George McGovern and former South Dakota Lt. Gov. Steve Kirby.

Hewitt also will be a guest on SDPB Radio's South Dakota Forum on Sept. 30 at noon.
