Tanager cross country teams compete in Madison invite by Jim Prosser Nine schools were represented at the John Collingon Invitational Cross Country meet at the Madison Country Club golf course, Friday, Aug. 27 with competition in both boys' and girls' divisions.
Class AA teams � Sioux Falls Lincoln, Huron and Mitchell dominated the top of the meet and no team points were kept, but of the nearly 80 individual boy runners, Tanager placers in the top 20 were Chad Teigen, 17th, and Andrew Manning, 20th. Placing 27th was Casey Carlson. Chris Teigen finished 36th, C.J. Harden was 50th, and J.R. Moore was 54th. Other VHS participants were D.J. Donahoe, Brody Stone, Raleigh Tiahrt and Dan Day.
For the girls, Kayla Jelen from SF Lincoln was first among the 57 runners, and Tanager placers were: Katarina Gombosz, 7th, Emily Renner, 14th, Rebecca Girlinghouse 32nd, and Amber Zalud, 56th.
The schools competing were: Garretson, Howard, Huron, Madison, Mitchell, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Sioux Valley, Vermillion and West Central.
