Tanager tennis team gains confidence with varsity wins by Jim Prosser The Vermillion girls' tennis team faced St. Thomas Moore and Madison in a triangular at Madison on Tuesday, Sept. 14.

Varsity singles: Emily Johnson (M) def. Michelle Rydell 8-1; Zazzee Coleman (V) def. Molly Johnson 8-6; Amber Oftedal (M) def. Liz Day 8-0; Breinn Sullivan (M) def. Linsay Morecraft 8-1; Shanon Skillman (V) def. Brietta Larson 8-3; and Kelly Wilkens (M) def. Alisha Hesla 8-3.

Doubles: M. Johnson/E. Johnson (M) def. Coleman/Rydell

In an exhibition match: Cowman def. Gould 8-3. "We have gained more varsity wins, which is giving our team confidence � that's what we'll need going into the state tournament," said coach Ristic.
