Celebration of life planned

Celebration of life planned An informal celebration of life in memory of Dr. Thomas C. Geary will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Wagner Center, 1110 North Dakota Street in Vermillion.

Dr. Geary, who died at 91 on Sept. 11 in Melbourne, FL, was a professor of political science at USD from 1936 until his retirement in 1976.

He is survived by two sons, James Geary of Vermillion and Dr. John C. Geary and his wife, Christraud, of Medford, MA; and a sister, Clara Stuhr, of Davenport, IA.

In addition, he leaves behind his companion of 17 years, Polly Knight of Indialantic, FL, and her family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Dicken Geary.

Those unable to attend the memorial event may send personal remembrances of their association with Dr. Geary to the family in care of the USD Foundation, PO Box 5555, Vermillion, SD 57069. Memorials may be sent to the Thomas C. Geary Scholarship Fund at the Foundation.
