Environment topic of Oct. 26 forum All six District 17 candidates for the South Dakota House and Senate have agreed to participate in an environmental forum on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the William J. Radigan Fire and EMS Station on Dakota Street. Among the topics to be considered are the rights of citizens to have a referendum on zoning issues, and the rights of land owners to enter into perpetual conservation easements.
The candidates will have an opportunity to discuss methods of increasing alternative energy production (wind and bio-fuels). The continuing question of defining and protecting family farmers will be considered. The audience will be invited to ask questions. The Living River Group of the Sierra Club is the sponsor.
