Seventh-graders keep rollin' by Jim Prosser The seventh-grade football team rolled over Elk Point/Jefferson 22-0, in a game played in Elk Point on Thursday, Sept. 30.
The win brought their season record to 3-0.
The game featured a very productive offense and a team-oriented defense (187 rushing yards, 57 tackles).
Scoring for the young Tanagers: Nick Mart � 2 TDs and a 2-point conversion. His touchdown runs were 60 and 39 yards; Kylen Freidel � 1 TD (64 yard QB sweep), one 2-point conversion.
Defense: Garrett Smith-Keller � 12 tackles, 5 QB sacks, 1 pass break-up (also pass reception for 9 yards on offense); Tanner Mart � 12 Ts, 2 QB sacks; Nick Mart � 6 Ts, 1 QB sack; Garrit Heine � 6 Ts, QB sack; Tanner Mart, Ben Knutson, Tom Amundson, and Nick Anglin each had 4 tackles, and six other defensemen registered 3 Ts each.
Altogether, 20 members shared in the total of 57 tackles!
