Tanager volleyball team gets sixth straight win by Jim Prosser On Thursday, Oct 14, the Tanager varsity volleyball team faced the Lady C-Hawks, but were able to roll them over with their sixth straight win 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21 at Canton.

"In a match wherein our best shots were being played back to us, we seemed to just take it in stride and find new avenues to victory," said coach Lenni Billberg. "Canton was unable to stop the 'breakout' game of Brittany Babb and the steady play of Annie Carlson."

Babb contributed 17 attacks, 7 kills, and 2 blocks, while Carlson accounted for 43 attacks, 12 kills, 3 blocks, 9 digs, 13 service points, and 3 aces.

"Also leading the way offensively was Ellen Odson who utilized the hot hitters for her 30 set assists," Billberg said.

She also had 10 digs and 15 service points.

Heather Walker continued her strong play at the net contributing 5 kills, 2 blocks, 17 attacks, and 21 service points and defensive specialists Brittany Campbell and Ariel Hofman sealed the win with stellar saves and defensive prowess.

Other significant individual Tanager stats were: Melissa Olson � 18 A, 6 K, 3 B, 8 D, 14 pos, 3 aces; Britt Weydert � 11 P, 6 D, 14 pos, 2 aces; Michelle Olson � 10 P, 27 A, 4 K, 3 B, 10 D, 11 pos.
