Bowlers cash in at PBA event Jeremy Sonnenfeld of Sioux Falls, and Michael Kruse Jr. of Vermillion, competed recently in the match-play portion of the Miller High Life Masters Professional Bowlers Association tourney in Wauwatosa, WI.
A total of 576 bowlers participated in qualifying. After 15 games of qualifying, the top 64 advanced to match play, where the 56th-seeded Kruse defeated Robert Smith of Thousand Oaks, CA, 645-593 and Hugh Miller of Seattle, 653-621, then lost to Danny Wiseman of Baltimore, 742-639 and Scott Pohl of Eagan, MN, 699-620. He earned $2,000.
Kruse bowled a 3,122.
Rick Hosmer of Watertown, Patrick King of Yankton, Mike Kruse Sr. of Vermillion, and Michael Witte of Flandreau, also competed but were eliminated after 10 games of qualifying.
