Gregoire is November Employee of the Month Lois Gregoire, program assistant in the budget and finance department at The University of South Dakota, has been selected as the Career Service Employee of the Month for November.

Vice president of finance and administration, Greg Redlin, presented the award on behalf of University of South Dakota President James W. Abbott during an award celebration on Monday, Nov. 8 in Old Main.

Gregoire was nominated by LeAnn Buum, manager of budget and finance. "Lois is one of those unique employees who are reliable and dedicated beyond expectation. She takes her responsibilities very seriously, she prides herself on accuracy, works long hours to meet deadlines and still manages to maintain a friendly and positive attitude," said Buum.

Richard Van Den Hul, associate vice president of finance and administration says "Lois is a real gem. She has a highly demanding and stressful job with many deadlines to meet and people to keep happy. She is dedicated and hard working yet she always has a smile for everyone she meets and a laugh for all the crazy little things that happen in a large organization. Lois makes it fun to work at USD."

Gregoire said she was honored by the award and the kind words of her co-workers and supervisors.

"There have been a lot of long hours and a lot of hard work but it's actually been fun," she said. "I'm very proud to receive this."

Gregoire, a Vermillion native, now lives with her husband, Hubert, in Wakonda. She is a 15-year employee at USD, working the past six years in the budget and finance office. She and her husband have one grown son who lives in Yankton, and two daughters, one who lives in Atlanta, GA and the other in Phoenix, AZ.
