Swimming, diving teams sweep SDSU in dual The South Dakota Swimming and Diving Team continued its early season success by recording a sweep of South Dakota State in a dual meet at the DakotaDome Nov. 5.
The Coyotes women's team moved to 2-0 in duals this season with a 117-63 decision over the Jackrabbits. The USD men won their first dual competition of the season with a 143-49 win over SDSU. USD claimed 18 titles, including 10 by the Coyote men's team and eight by the Coyote women's team.
Theresa Eustice, a senior from Waseca, MN, won two individual titles and also swam on the winning 200 medley relay (2:10.59). She captured the 100 back (1:07.87) and the 200 IM (2:33.09). Jill Smolczyk, a freshman from Omaha, NE, won both the one-meter and three-meter competitions.
Mark Anderson, a senior from Loveland, CO, won the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions on the men's side. Dylan Smith, a sophomore from Cheyenne, WY, and Josh Fleming were double winners. Fleming captured the 200 IM (2:22.65) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.55). Smith was also a member of the 200 medley relay team and won the 100 free (53.48).
