USD volleyball team wins 7th straight NCC match The South Dakota women's volleyball team (15-11, 7-1 NCC) continued its impressive run in North Central Conference play with a 3-1 (22-30, 30-21, 30-22, 30-12) win over 24th-ranked Nebraska-Omaha (14-8, 5-4 NCC), in Omaha, NE.
After dropping the first game, 30-22, the Coyotes pounded Nebraska-Omaha, 30-21, 30-22 and 30-12, to take the match.
The Coyotes hit .253 (58 K-19 E-154 TA).
It was the fifth straight match that senior Lindsey Soukup (Lincoln, NE) and junior Kristin Miller (Papillion, NE) recorded double-doubles in the same match.
Soukup recorded 15 kills to lead all players, while adding 20 digs. Miller had 13 kills and 13 digs for the Coyotes.
Reigning national player of the week, Laura Marske (Spencer, IA) hit .471 (11 K-3 E-17 TA) for USD.
Coyote setter Liz Selzer (Papillion, NE) had a double-double of her own with 48 set assists and 11 digs.
Defensive specialist Lacey Ross (Omaha, NE) added 22 digs for the Coyotes, to lead all players in that category.
South Dakota will host two home matches next weekend when they entertain St. Cloud State Nov. 5 and North Dakota Nov. 6. The St. Cloud State match is scheduled for 7 p.m., while the North Dakota match is set for 4 p.m.
