Veterans Day services are scheduled Nov. 11 Vermillion will honor its military veterans with special Verans Day services on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. in the W.H. Over Museum, 1110 Ratingen Street.
Andy Howe, VFW post commander, will be master of ceremonies. Dorothy Neuhaus of the W.H. Over Museum will talk briefly about a military display at the museum.
The invocation will be given by the Rev. Wilbur Tiahrt.
Erna Carlson of the American Legion Auxiliary will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Carrie Christensen and the audience will sing God Bless America, accompanied by Deb Christensen. Christensen will also sing another patriotic selection later in the program.
Two speakers will address the audience at the Nov. 11 program. They are Sgt. Randy Jarvis and Sgt. Niel Wallin, both of the South Dakota National Guard.
The ceremony will conclude with a benediction by Tiahrt, and flag raising by Darrell Christopherson.
The VFW Vermillion Post firing squad will present a rifle salute to honor the dead, followed by Taps.
