Credit card literacy offered to high schools

Credit card literacy offered to high schools A cooperative agreement between South Dakota State Treasurer Vernon L. Larson, the Center for Credit Card Education, and 40 school districts throughout the state will result in more than 1,000 high school seniors participating in a credit card literacy program.

The program offered to students about to enter college or the job market for the first time, teaches them about credit, credit cards and how to avoid credit problems.

"As both a parent and an elected state official who deals with finances every day, I feel an obligation to see that our children have as many decision-making tools at their disposal as possible as they enter adulthood," Larson said.
