Lucia Festival is Dec. 12 The Dalesburg Scandinavian Association sponsors and takes pleasure in announcing its annual Lucia Festival. This is a traditional Scandinavian festival long associated with the Christmas season.
The public is cordially invited to attend this, the association's 28th annual Lucia Festival, 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, 30595 University Road, Vermillion.
The church is 12 miles north of Vermillion on University Road or five-and-a-half miles west of exit 38 on I-29.
There will be Scandinavian food and a program at which Lucia is crowned. Five area high school girls will form the Lucia Court from which Lucia will be chosen. Dr. Wayne Knutson, USD, will speak and lead a discussion on Christmas past at Lucia.
There is no charge for attendance, but a freewill offering will be much appreciated.
