Maxcene V. Helseth, 79, of Vermillion, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.
Maxcene Kendrick was born April 1, 1925 in Loretta, NE, to Chester and Jessie (Worthington) Kendrick. She attended school in Burbank, and married Lloyd Helseth on April 1, 1946 in Elk Point.
Mrs. Helseth worked as a cook most of her life, and was most recently employed at the Mathilda Gephart Child Daycare in Vermillion. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and TLCW in Vermillion, and a past member of the Dakota Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Helseth was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dennis, four brothers, and a sister.
Her survivors include her husband, Lloyd, of Vermillion; two sons, David (Rosetta) of Brandon, and Greg (Lynn) of Tucson, AZ; and a daughter, Karla (Tim) Tawzer of Brookings.
She is also survived by two sisters, Corrine Beadle of Hudson, and Carrie Morris of Akron, IA, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation began at 5 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the church, with burial in the BluffView Cemetery in Vermillion. Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion was in charge of arrangements.
