Wakonda School will host book fair by Ally Eckert Wakonda School will host a Scholastic Book Fair Dec. 1-8 to help raise funds for new books and classroom materials.
The fair will feature specially priced books and educational products, including newly released works, award-winning titles, children's classics, interactive software and current best sellers from more than 150 publishers.
The book fair brings children, teachers and families together within a school and community to celebrate reading and learning.
The fair will be open each day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents, children, teachers and the community are invited. On Dec. 2 and Dec. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., the book fair will feature a special family event with read alouds and a wrapping booth sponsored through FCCLA.
Fair attendees can help build classrooms libraries by purchasing books for teachers through the Classroom Wish List program. Book Fair proceeds also will be used to purchase essential classroom resources and support school projects.
