Letters Generosity appreciated

To the editor:

As representative of the Salvation Army Extension Unity in Vermillion, I wish to thank all the churches, friends, organizations and supporters who have given donations and time to The Salvation Army.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign is The Salvation Army's most vital, accounting for nearly 75 percent of its annual fund raising totals. It is vital because we depend on this support to meet emergent needs in the community.

I am pleased to report that this year Vermillion raised just under $3,000.

It is only with generous support from the community during this time that The Salvation Army is able to continue to offer visitation to the lonely, coats for less fortunate, food baskets, back to school supplies, and temporary emergency assistance to those in need. The goal is to continually make a difference in the community.

From volunteering to contributions we appreciate the kindness, compassion, and generosity that our community has and continues to show. Your support has helped us make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Sincerely,

Rev. Devon Davoux
