Catholic Schools Week celebrated

Catholic Schools Week celebrated St. Agnes School celebrated Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 23-28. "Faith in Every Student" was this year's theme. The annual kick-off turkey dinner, silent auction, and verbal auction were a wonderful success due to an extremely supportive faith community. Throughout the week St. Agnes School children prayed especially for our nation, community, parish, school, and religious. Other special prayer intentions were for Gwen Mount, Yolanda Herrera, Susan Larsen, tsunami victims, servicemen and women, and the Eckert family.

Some of the week's activities included parental visits, board games, karaoke, and a walk-a-thon. The first-ever walk-a-thon was an incredible successful service project. Along with receiving health benefits, students collected over $3,100 in sponsored donations. Proceeds went to the Eckert family of rural Wakonda. Thank you parents, friends, relatives, and to all for contributing to a worthy cause. The schoolchildren will continue to pray for the Eckert family, and for all those in need.
