Dance marathon hosts fund-raising events The University of South Dakota's Dance Marathon is rocking its way through the semester to meet its $50,000 goal.
Dance Marathon is the largest student fund-raising event on USD's campus and all proceeds go to the Children's Miracle Network. Several upcoming fund-raising events will contribute to this year's success.
Dance Marathon will host "Parent's Night Out" on Feb. 18 from 6 to 10 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Everyone is welcome to stop by with their children for a fun night out. What is the cost? You decide! If interested, please email tlscherr@usd.edu.
On Feb. 23, starting at 8 a.m., the executive council will get on the roof of the Coyote Student Center for the annual "Roof Sit." Members will not come down until $1,258.88 is raised.
Dance Marathon's recent fund-raising event "Calling for Kids" was a success. Over the two days it was held in the Coyote Student Center, $2,251 was raised. Many professors, faculty, and staff called on family and friends to raise this money. They were allowed out of "jail" after the money was raised.
The actual dance marathon is April 2-3, which will include dancing, fun, and games. For more information, please go to www.usd.edu/dancemarathon.
