Eckert family benefit Feb. 26 Members of the Vermillion Modern Woodmen of America camp (2480) will hold a fund-raiser Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Wakonda Legion Hall for the Eckert Family Benefit Fund.
Plans for the fund-raiser include a pork loin dinner from 5 to 8 p.m., free will donation, and a dance following. Music will be provided by Midnight Special. The money raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen's home office, up to $2,500, through the fraternal benefit society's matching fund program.
The Matching Fund program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support of a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fund-raisers. These fund-raising projects contribute more than $5 million to community needs nationwide each year.
For more information about how you can contribute to this fund-raising event, contact Cathy Lynch at 605-665-7799 or Marsha Steffen at the Wakonda Community Cafe, 267-2681.
Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, today Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States.
