Men's swimming and diving team second at NCC championships The South Dakota Men's Swimming and Diving Team rolled up 1,127.5 points and finished second in the North Central Conference Swimming and Diving Meet that concluded on Saturday night in Omaha, NE.
The South Dakota women's team was fourth with 579.5 points. USD freshman Leita Rolfe was named the NCC Women's Freshman of the Year.
North Dakota captured the men's team title with 1,590 points, which was their sixth straight title. USD was second followed by St. Cloud State with 686 points; Colorado-Mines, fourth, 537 points; Metro State, fifth, 354 points and Minnesota State, Mankato, sixth, with 288.5 points.
In the women's team race, Nebraska-Omaha won the team crown, breaking the North Dakota 23-year hold on the women's championship. UNO had 1,296 points with North Dakota at 1,266.5 points. St. Cloud State was third at 855.5 points and USD was fourth. The rest of the team breakdown included Minnesota State, Mankato, fifth, 496.5 points; Minnesota State-Moorhead, sixth, 227 points; Colorado-Mines, seventh, 205 points; and Metro State, eighth, eight points.
