USD squad has strong performance The South Dakota men's and women's swimming and diving squad continued its strong performance at the Minnesota Challenge which concluded Saturday night on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
The South Dakota women's team picked up a pair of first place finishes, led by freshman Leita Rolfe. She captured a title in the 400 IM, clocking a 4:38.29, which is the third best performance in school history. Rolfe was also a member of the winning 400 Free Relay, which recorded a time of 3:43.77. Other team members included Megan Gordon, Angie Stalker, and Audrey Donley.
Rolfe was also third in the 100 Breast in 1:07.86, which is the fourth best clocking in school history. She also took second in the 200 Breast with a clocking of 2:25.69.
, which is the fourth best time ever at USD.
Gordon also had a solid meet, capturing second in the 400 IM in 4:59.84. She was second in the 200 Back in 2:09.52. Both Gordon and Rolfe were members of the 200 Medley Relay that took second in 1:50.07. Other member members on that squad were Donley and Brae Olson.
