USD student earns USA Today honor

USD student earns USA Today honor University of South Dakota student Justin Elhoff of Lennox, SD, is an honorable mention selection to USA Today's 2005 All-USA College Academic Team.

The honor aims to acknowledge outstanding students in the nation's colleges and universities who excel in scholarship and leadership roles on and off campus. Students must participate in an original academic or intellectual project.

"I'm very honored by this recognition and proud to be included with such an outstanding group of students. I'm thankful for the op-

portunities I've had here at USD that made this possible," said Elhoff.

Elhoff is a senior history major and USD Medical Alumni Student Scholar. Other recognitions Elhoff has earned include the 2004 Wood Fellow at College of Physicians in Philadelphia, PA, 2003 Western Front Association/Phi Alpha Theta National Undergraduate Essay Prize Winner, Joseph H. Cash "Excellence in Writing" Scholarship, 2003 National Science Foundation Grant, and first place in European history at the USD Student History Conference. Elhoff also serves as a mentor in USD's Big Pal/Little Pal program and is active in the Biology Club.
