Vermillion Literary Project to feature workshops, poetry slam The general public and The University of South Dakota community are invited to attend the Vermillion Literary Project 2005 Poetry Festival, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24 in Vermillion.
Participants will write their own poems during morning and afternoon workshops led by poets Lsee Ann Roripaugh, Sarah McKinstry-Brown, and Matt Mason and enjoy a noontime reading featuring Roripaugh and McKinstry-Brown. In the evening, all are invited to attend a reading and poetry slam, featuring Matt Mason, at the Coffee Shop Gallery in downtown Vermillion.
Both the VLP noontime reading and VLP evening reading are free; registration and a registration fee are required for the VLP workshops ($20 general public; $10 USD faculty and staff; $5 USD students). The workshops and noontime reading will be held in the Rushmore rooms at the Coyote Student Center on the campus of The University of South Dakota, beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24.
