Workshops assist farm and ranch vacations The Office of Tourism is offering rural tourism workshops for producers interested in alternative income opportunities.
The workshops will be held via the Digital Dakota Network Feb. 17, 9 a.m. to noon, at sites in Pierre, Watertown, Spearfish, Vermillion, Winner and Hot Springs and Feb. 18, 1 to 4 p.m., at sites in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Brookings, Aberdeen, Mitchell and Pierre.
Tourism officials will present information about cooperative marketing and strategies to attract more visitors. Discussion topics include business plans, community involvement and South Dakota's legal requirements for operating a bed and breakfast or ranch vacation. First-hand experiences will also be shared.
