Atlantic Alliance topic of forum "The Atlantic Alliance Can it be Saved?" will be the next topic of the International Forum sponsored by the USD School of Business, at noon on Thursday, March 17 in the Lin- coln/Roosevelt/Jefferson rooms of the USD Coyote Student Center.

Panelists include: Dr. John Fremstad, political science/USD; Dr. Jan Lane, political science/University of Geneva/Switzerland; and Dr. Freek Lapre, CEO/Lapre Organisation/The Netherlands.

Both President Bush and Secretary of State Rice recently visited Europe to improve relations with the United States, in light of disagreements over Iran, Iraq, the Kyoto Agreement and other issues. What are the chances that the Atlantic Alliance will be strengthened again, taking a common position toward emerging world powers such as India and China, and dealing with major difficulties in such places as the Congo, Uganda and the Sudan? These are some of the topics which will be taken up by the panelists from both Europe and the U.S.
