Former Sen. Daschle to speak at USD The University of South Dakota welcomes former Sen. Tom Daschle to speak on campus on April 5.
His speech, titled "The Politics of Freedom: A Progressive Vision of American Liberty," will be in Farber Hall at 4 p.m. and will mark his first public appearance in the state since leaving the Senate. This speech, presented by the W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership, is free and open to the public.��
Following his speech, Daschle will participate in "An Evening With Tom Daschle," which will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a reception in the Al Neuharth Media Center. Speakers scheduled at the event include George McGovern, Bill Janklow, Ruth Ziolkowski, Al Neuharth, and USD President James W. Abbott. Due to space limitations, an invitation is required to attend this event. However, "An Evening with Tom Daschle" will be recorded and televised by South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
