Last minute opportunity for Rhythm in Red

Last minute opportunity for Rhythm in Red Rhythm in Red has been offered an opportunity to perform at Show Choir Nationals in Branson, MO, April 14-17.

Rhythm in Red competed at this competition in 2002 and they took home first runner-up. This time they will be competing against top-notch show choirs from around the nation.

They are currently doing some fund raising for their trip and are asking for your help. Rhythm in Red will be selling gourmet frozen food from a company called Mark One on Thursday, March 17. Please expect a knock at your door that evening asking for your support either by purchasing some gourmet food or making a donation.

Quiznos Restaurant will be sponsoring a fund-raising event March 14-15. If you leave your receipt at Quiznos, Rhythm in Red will receive 10 percent of their total profits on those two days.

In addition, Vermillion Pizza Hut will be sponsoring a fund-raising event April 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 8 p.m. where Rhythm in Red would receive 20 percent of all profits. A coupon must be presented for dine-in, carry-out or delivery. This coupon will be available in the Broadcaster prior to the fund-raising event or will be handed out on fund-raising night (March 17) or VHS Jazz Night (March 31).

Music Boosters, in collaboration with Hy-Vee, will also be sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on Thursday, March 31 before VHS Jazz Night. The cost of that dinner will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the show choir students. Each student needs to pay $310 by April 1 in order to attend this event. If you want to make a donation, you may contact Kristin Iverson at Vermillion High School (677-7035).
