Learn to dine with diabetes Do you or a member of your family have diabetes? Is planning meals a real struggle?
The Turner County Extension Service and Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital are offering a Dining with Diabetes program that might be right for you. Classes will be held on Tuesday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. A follow-up class will be scheduled later. Classes will be held at the Canton High School in the Family and Consumer Science Room. You will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, easy to prepare and taste good. Recipes will be demonstrated and participants will have the opportunity to taste each one. The Registered Dietician from Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital will teach up-to-date information on nutrition and meal planning. Recipe booklets and handouts will be given to each participant.
This class is open to those with diabetes, their family members and caretakers. Total cost for this session is $5 and participants are asked to attend all classes.
