Senior Spotlight By Ashley Anderson Wakonda senior Eric Skonhovd is ready to graduate from high school and to fulfill his dreams in becoming a Navy pilot and to travel around the world.
Eric, son of Tony and Tereasa Skonhovd, was born in Yankton on July 16, 1986. He is also a brother to three other siblings, Jamie, Nick, and Casey.
His favorite school memory is going back to the State B's and winning the cross country team's second state championship in a row. His favorite teacher memory would be Mr. Muth saying his "Up Dog" joke. Also, his favorite song is Big Pimpin by Jay Z.
Eric's future plans are to join the military, travel the world, and hopefully someday become a pilot. Eric has been involved in three sports his entire high school life, cross country, basketball, and track.
With his determination to succeed in life, Eric will have to keep in mind his favorite quote throughout his journey. "The last three or four reps is what makes a muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That's what most people look at, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens," written anonymous.
July 12, Eric will travel to Great Lakes, IL, for boot camp, when he is finished there, he will move to Florida to attend school.
