South Dakota's tennis team wins first match A young and improving South Dakota tennis squad (1-4) split a pair of dual competitions at Duluth, MN, on Friday and Saturday.
South Dakota defeated Bemidji State, 6-3, on Friday, as the Coyotes won its first match on the season. Minnesota-Duluth captured a 8-1 decision over the Coyotes on Saturday morning. In the win over Bemidji State, the Coyotes won five of six singles matches and also won at number one doubles.
South Dakota athletes picking up wins against Bemidji State included Maya Ristic, Michelle Hogan, Rachel Kludt, Catherine Stoos, and Brittany Johnson. The Coyotes' No. 1 doubles team of Ristic and Hogan also picked up a win. Against UMD, Ristic had USD's only victory at No. 1 singles.
