Tanagers outplayed by C-Hawks 52-26 By Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers were downed by the Canton C-Hawks 52-26 in boys� basketball Feb. 25 at home after suffering through a rocky first half.

�We struggled tonight,� said Vermillion varsity coach Jason Huska. �Canton came to play and we didn�t. We started off slowly, didn�t shoot well and things didn�t get much better as the game went along. We need to put this behind us and refocus for districts.�

The C-Hawks ended up hot from three-point range, canning 7 of 11 from long distance.

The Tanagers fell behind 18-7 after the first quarter, trailed 35-11 after the second quarter, and then trailed 41-20 going into the final period.

Vermillion saw its record fall to 8-10, while Canton upped its mark to 11-8.

Vermillion made 7 of 14 free throw tries. The Tanagers sank 9 of 48 field goal attempts, while Canton was 19 of 31 from the field. The C-Hawks sank 7 of 11 free throw tries.
