Discover Your Library

VITA is at the Vermillion Public Library through April 14. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will be scheduled for Monday and Thursday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room. Bring your 2004 tax information and if possible, last year's tax return when you come. Call the library for more information or to see if you qualify during the scheduled times at 677-7060.

Join us after school on April 11-13 to help celebrate National Library Week. On Monday, April 11, a puppet show and activities are scheduled for grades K through two. On Tuesday, April 12, the USD Reading Council has planned special activities for grades three through five. Then, get ready for a Reading Rumpus, a Maurice Sendak video, and "Wild Things" creations on Wednesday, April 13. This final activity has been planned for all ages.

The library will host the annual Literary Luncheon on April 20. "Five Generations of Quilting" is the program which will be presented by Yvonne Hollenbeck, cowboy poet and quilter. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m., with the program starting at 12:10 p.m. Tickets are $7. Please call the library at 677-7060 to register, for more information, and to purchase tickets for this special event.

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! The book sale will be held in the Community Room of the library from April 21-24.

April's Book Club meeting will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. Please join the book club to discuss Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning book of 1960, To Kill a Mockingbird.

Call Linda Calleja at 677-7060 for outreach services. The outreach route is a free service provided by the library for all city residents. Its purpose is to supply reading materials to those who are homebound. This book service is set up to deliver materials twice a month

Think COLOR!

Another addition to the Vermillion Public Library is a new copy machine that prints in color! The charge for color copies is $1. Please ask the staff for any help may need in using the new copier.
