City council meets April 4 The Vermillion City Council will hold its regular meeting 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, at the Al Neuharth Media Center on the USD campus.
Lynne Day will be given the oath of office as a new member of the council. She was appointed to replace Central Ward Alderman Drake Olson, who resigned to accept employment in another city.
The council will also hear a presentation from South Dakota Department of Transportation officials on the proposed Cherry Street improvement project. The public is encouraged to attend.
In other business, the council will take action on a Capital for a Day resolution, and will decide whether to execute a grant application for South Dakota Department of Health Mosquito Abatement Program Funds for the city.
