Future Fair aims to help former Gateway employees If you are you a former Gateway employee affected by layoffs and are wondering what types of programs and services are out there to help you, you'll want to attend the 2005 Future Fair.
The one-day event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25, at the North Sioux City Community Center. Sponsored by the North Sioux City Career Center and Southeast Job Link, the Future Fair is designed exclusively for workers who have been separated from employment at Gateway.
During the Future Fair you can discover which local, state and federal programs are available to you and other former Gateway employees. Some of the programs are intended to assist you in your search for lasting employment and others are designed to help if you choose to pursue additional education or training before rejoining the workforce.
But all of programs feature different guidelines and are in effect for varying amounts of time. If you attend the Future Fair, Career Center and Job Link staff members will help you sort through the details and discover which programs best meet your individual employment goals before your window of eligibility closes for the various programs.
Staff members will also help you find answers to questions about unemployment benefits, relocation assistance and funding that might be available for short-term school or training programs. Once you've visited those booths and determined which types of programs and funding you might qualify for, you'll be able to stop by the booths featuring the Regional Technical Education Center (RTEC) and sign up for the courses or training options that meet your needs and goals.
Representatives from RTEC will be on hand to introduce you to the variety of training options that will be available in your area. You'll find upcoming QuickBooks, A+, Net+ and CAD opportunities as well as others in welding, truck driving, CNC, LPN and medical transcription. You'll also be able to add your name to interest lists being developed for future training options.
If you are a former Gateway employee, don't miss this special one-day event. All of the resources designed to get your career moving.
in the right direction will be assembled in one location. You are invited to stop by at your convenience and stay as little or as long as you like. Refreshments will be served and there will be an area set aside for you to consider your options and visit with friends both old and new.
