Herseth will discuss Social Security Friday The proposed changes to Social Security will be the topic of a roundtable discussion in Vermillion Friday, April 1, led by U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth.
The event will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Buffalo Run Winery, 1500 West Main Street, Vermillion.
Herseth will lead a discussion and listen to area residents' opinions about the changes suggested by President Bush and others. This meeting is one of several Herseth is hosting statewide to hear from her constituents on this important issue.
"Thousands of South Dakota seniors rely on Social Security as the baseline of their retirement security," Herseth said. "As Congress considers making changes to the program to ensure its solvency for future generations, I look forward to hearing ideas and concerns from South Dakotans of all ages."
