Tanager tennis team loses to Mitchell 0-9 By Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanager tennis team, battling strong winds and a good Mitchell High School Kernel team, were unable to overcome the circumstances as they lost a 0-9 dual to the home team played on Friday, April 8 in Mitchell.

Singles: Tyler Mehlbrech (M) def Steve Foltz 6-1, 4-6, 10-3; MartyDeslauriers (M) def Dan Day 6-3, 6-4; Justin Cahoy (M) def Keshav Arogyaswamy 6-4, 6-4; Chase Smith (M) def Anthony Rath 6-4, 6- 0; Chad Deinert (M) def Harsh Patel 7-5, 6-4; and Josh Lorenzen (M) def Chris Jensen 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles: Deslauriers/Cahoy def Day/Foltz 6-3, 6-7 (5-10), 10-1 ; Mehlbrech/ Smith def Rath/Arogyaswamy 6-7, 6-3, 10-4; Deinert/Lorenzen def Patel/Jensen 6-2, 6-1.

�They outlasted us at the end but we put up a good fight neverless,� coach Ruevers said. �We need to get the ball in play and then make use of our strengths.�

The Tanagers� season dual record is 1-4 with a home match against Brandon Valley April 12 at the USD DakotaDome courts.
