Men's day open golf. Men's League organizational meeting On Thursday, April 7, the 2005 mens' league met and elected officers for the upcoming season at The Bluffs. Officers are Jere Chapman, president; Joe Villalobos, vice president; and Harland Durkin, secretary-treasurer. There were a majority of team representatives and discussions for the activities for the league were numerous and heated. Finally, President "Chappy" appointed a committee to organize and clarify the suggestions and bring the results to a meeting scheduled for April 14. The committee was comprised of Chapman, Villalobos, Joe Bjorkman, Brian Steele, Tim Christopherson, Quinny Larson, and Barry Vickery. Their recommendations were evaluated and voted on by the members of the committee. It was decided that the league would have 12 play dates and four "Stag" dates for the regular season. Stag nights will include special golfing games and free food for league members only. These dates will not be scored for the team against team season competition but will be games (to be determined) at each stag date. Stag dates will be: May 5, June 2, Aug. 4 and Sept. 8. Team captains will be responsible for participants at the 3 and 6 p.m. special games each time. Activities near the end of the season have not been formulated as of now but will be decided later. If you intend to have a team this year please let the pro shop staff or league officers know soon. TEAM CAPTAINS please get the team roster to Rusty or Eric ASAP. League commences with a stag involving every team on May 5th, with 3 and 6 p.m. shotgun tee offs and regular competition will start on May 12. The scoring system will be the same as last year a match is worth two points, one per session; medal is worth two points, one per session; each hole won is worth one point, nine points per session; and one point added for total medal. Twenty-three points available per week.
