Boys' tennis team ends season at state By Jim Prosser The Tanager tennis team ran into a lot of adversity at the state tournament in Sioux Falls May 21-23.

While they made valiant attempts, they couldn't overcome the tough opposition in every flight.

Here are the results:

First day singles � Tyler Dybsetter (Y) def. Steve Foltz 6-4, 6-2; Ryan Schoenenfeld (Wat) def. Dan Day 6-1, 6-2; Alex Lauseng (Pr) def. Keshav Arogyaswamy, 6-2, 6-1; Brandon Eisenbraun (Y) def. Anthony Rath 6-4, 6-2; Tom Ronan (StM) def. Harsh Patel 6-3, 2-6, 6-3; and Mike Hollan (AbC) def. Eric Hesla 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: K. Ashland/L. Ashland (StM) def. Foltz/Day 6-3, 6-2; Kalseck/Bender (Brk) def. Arogyaswamy/ Rath 6-1, 6-0; and Terveen/Weaver (Spr) def. Patel/Hesla 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

Second day singles � Caleb Chapman (Stu) def. Foltz 10-3; Cody Malik (RCS) def. Day 10-1; Robbie Beard (Y) def. Arogyaswamy 10-2; Nathan Janssen (Mad) def. Rath 10-6; Paul Brimm (Pr) def. Patel 10-4; and Logan Soper (BV) def. Hesla 10-0.

Doubles: Wachs/Netzer (AbR) def. Foltz/Day 10-3; Beard Eisenbraun (Y) def. Arogyaswamy/Rath 10-4; and Dienert/Lorenzen (Mit) def. Patel/Hesla 10-7.

"Overall, we didn't perform to our talent level but the kids had a great experience, especially the seniors who were in their last state tournament," said coach Jon Reuvers. "I am hopeful that our young guys will work hard this summer and will help in rebuilding the Tanager boys' tennis program."
