The Vermillion Public Library Book Club will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the activity room of the library. The Butches of Madison County, the 1996 winner of the Lambda Award for Best Humor, is written by author Ellen Orleans and will be the discussion book for the May meeting. This book, a witty parody of a classic romance, is about the relationship stages of a wandering lesbian writer and a straight Iowa farmwife.

"Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds" is the theme of this year's Summer Reading Program. The program begins at noon on Monday, June 6 and runs through noon, Friday Aug. 5.
